Isn't it funny how in the world of crafting we get obssessed with things and then onto something else. At the moment, incase you haven't guessed, I've become obssessed with crochet!  I think because I'm so shocked I can actually do it now.

Within this obssession for the last few days has been an obssession to make dishcloths! Yes, I really did say that ... DISHCLOTHS!
I had no idea you could get yarn to use for dishcloths and also the shapes you can use as well! I have become educated on these things and have churned a couple out which are doing pretty good for me right now.

This is the first one I did. Like a peach and a cream varigated 100% cotton yarn.

Then I tried the doily shaped type. I just couldn't get my head round the thoughts of this being a dishcloth. To me, dishcloths are oblong/rectangular ... that's all I've ever known a dishcloth to be.

I'm now educated into knowing that the doily shape works equally as well as a dishcloth!  :)

The two together to show you the sizes.  They are both made with 100% cotton yarn.  I like working with it. It stitches up nicely.

The obssession continues .... Another dishcloth I've made. This one has a ruffled edging.

Then I added a doily to this to make a matching set. I've given this one to my friend who gave me all the yarn. She loves it thankfully. :)

Oh and on the bargain front. We had to pop out on Saturday and a quick dash into the charity shop got me these, £3 for the lot!

Crochet yarns, assorted beads in a box and a cross stitch spectacle case kit.  :)

My round ripple is growing, albeit slowly at the moment.  I can't wait to finish this though and get it over the box, I really hope it will look good.

Please excuse my mum's tapestry wools! She was sitting working on her tapestry while I was crocheting my ripple. It's growing. I forgot to measure it point to point, but I'll measure it next time.

Hope all is well with all of you.  I am hoping to catch up on my blog reading tonight so I can see what you've all been busy with.

Take care!

  1. Washing up has never been so colourful..these are lovely :) and your round ripple is just brilliant.

  2. You have been busy!! Apparently, hand-crocheted cotton facecloths are fabulous too!!

    Love the ripple!!

  3. Thank you both! I'm just loving doing these and the ripple blanket is pretty soothing to do as well.

Sarah, how strange you said that because I just won some cotton yarn on ebay that I wanted to try and make face cloths with! LOL.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave me a message. I really appreciate it.
